Nido may expand to Tauranga if new store is a hit

SUNLIVE: The founder of a giant homeware and furniture store opening in west Auckland hopes to expand the business to other New Zealand cities. Kiwi businessman Vinod Kumar plans to open the world's first Nido store at 158 Central Park Drive, Henderson by Spring, with work already well underway. If the store proved successful Vinod says he planned to expand it to Tauranga, Christchurch and maybe even Australia, where the company had already been registered.

Local rival to IKEA to open this spring

WARES NEW ZEALAND: As indicated late last year, well-known former Mitre 10 MEGA proprietor, Vinod Kumar, is to open a big box homewares and housewares retailer to rival the scale and offering of IKEA. His key advantage? That construction on the 31,000+ square metre site at 158 Central Park Drive in Henderson, West Auckland (just up the road from Vinod's former Mitre 10 MEGA Henderson), is already underway and is expected to be completed around spring of this year.
